August 5, 6:05 p.m., Assault of a Police Officer, Malicious Mischief, Vandalism to Vehicles, Market & Church Streets
An officer in an unmarked vehicle witnessed a suspect picking up objects from the ground and throwing them at vehicles. The suspect also threw an object at the officer through his open window, striking him in the head. The officer detained the suspect and placed the suspect into custody with the assistance of additional officers who arrived at the scene.
July 31, 6 p.m., Robbery, 16th & Landers Streets
The victim was walking along 16th Street when two suspects came from behind him, pushed him to the ground and stole his laptop case, which contained his computer. As the suspects started to walk away, one of them returned to the victim and demanded his cell phone. The victim got off the ground and pushed passed the suspect, running away. The suspects did not pursue. The victim stated he would not be able to identify the suspects and none were apprehended.
Aug. 15, 12:46 a.m., Burglary, Apartment, Unlawful Entry, Area of Guerrero & 23rd StreetsOfficers responded to a burglary call. The victim stated she had left at approximately 9 a.m. on Aug. 14 and returned at 11 p.m. to find her front door unlocked and jewelry, two iPods, a laptop and coins missing. The victim stated she left her front door unlocked but was unsure if she had locked her jarred window. No suspects were apprehended.
Aug. 15, 2 p.m., Theft from Locked Vehicle, Area of Hancock & Church Streets.
The victim came to a police station to report that her vehicle was broken into while parked in her driveway earlier that day between 12:20 and 12:40 p.m. The victim stated her backpack containing her laptop, passport and immigration card had been stolen.
No suspects were apprehended.
