Fireworks erupted from an unruly crowd at the Castro Theatre on the evening of Aug. 8 as Mayor Ed Lee began his campaign for reelection, contrary to his originally publicized intentions. The mayoral debate featured nine candidates and a chorus of boos.
Jamin Barton toots his own horn to back up Kelley Stoltz, a San Francisco-based singer/songwriter who helped open the three-day Outside Lands concert on Friday, Aug. 12. The concert drew an estimated 100,000 people throughout the weekend and spotlighted a large crop of local talent.
