Premiere of Club La Zeez in San Francisco: Saturday, Mar. 15, 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. Celebrate the recognition of Club La Zeez by the LGBT Center in San Francisco and by And Castro For All with dancing, drinks, and music. Also help raise funds for the provocative gay Arab movie, “All My Life.” The cover is $15. Club Eight – 1151 Folsom St.

San Francisco Amateur Astronomers’ Lecture Series: Wednesday, Mar. 19,
8 p.m. Join Don Machholz for a presentation about 18th century astronomer Charles Messier, who is famous for compiling the Messier Catalogue, an extensive list of galaxies, star clusters, and nebula. All 110 of the objects documented in the catalogue can be observed in one night. Open to all ages but geared toward adults. Admission is free. Randall Museum Theatre. 199 Museum Way.

Eureka Valley Promotion Association: Thursday, March 20, 7:30 p.m. The EVPA holds its annual business meeting at this meeting. The EVPA has been a neighborhood group in Eureka Valley since 1881. . Eureka Valley Recreation Center, 100 Collingwood Street. Visit evpa.org for more information.

Birding the Hill: Friday, Mar. 21, 8 a.m. Come to Corona Heights Park to learn more about its flying inhabitants. The two-hour walk involves climbing a steep path and several stairs. Call ahead at (415) 554-9600 ext. 16 if you need to borrow binoculars. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 5 and up are welcome, and there is no cost. Natural History Lecture Series: Thursday, Mar. 27, 7:30 p.m. Join Bay Area butterfly expert Liam O’Brien for “My Year with the Butterflies of San Francisco County” to learn about the butterflies of San Francisco and their delicate existence in urban areas. O’Brien is fascinated by the places where “people and butterflies converge.” O’Brien will share his findings on which butterfly species are surviving in the City and which are being threatened. Free. Habitat Restoration Volunteer Work Party: Saturday, Mar. 29, 10 a.m. Keep Corona Heights Park healthy and beautiful for its native wildlife by joining habitat restoration volunteers. Meet at the Randal Museum at 10 a.m. and call ahead to sign up at (415) 554-9600 ext. 16. There is no cost, and ages 10 and up are welcome. Coastal Camp’s Summer Day Camp Open House: Saturday, Mar. 29 Explore family-oriented naturalist-led hikes, crafts and outdoor activities in the Marin Headlands and the camp’s state-of-the-art science and marine labs. You can also enter a raffle to win a free week of Coastal Camp, a summer day camp in Sausalito for children grades 1-9.
