The Randall Museum Presents ‘Wild in the City – Family Festival’: Sunday, Jun. 1, 2-5 p.m. This family festival celebrates the opening of the ‘Wild in the City’ exhibit.
In addition to the hands-on educational exhibits, party to the bluegrass tunes of Gayle Schmitt and the Toodala Ramblers while watching amazing feats performed by Gregangelo & Velocity Circus. Joel Baecker Catering will provide wood-fired pizzas and Italian wines will be available from TerraVino Tastings. Tickets are $100 or $300 and each admits up to five people. An Evening Introduction to Flesh and Spirit Community: Thursday, Jun. 5, 7:30–9:30 p.m. Flesh and Spirit Community for men has been in existence since 1992, changing men’s lives through touching skin, opening hearts and raising spirits. Now a Flesh and Spirit Community for women is being launched as a separate but parallel path for women exploring erotic spirituality. This evening overview and conversation will include some experiential body-oriented exercises, ritual, and intentional touch in safe and sacred space. Suggested donation of $10–$20. San Francisco Urban Permaculture Course: Jun. 7 – Aug. 10, 10 a.m. This class take places over six weekends during the summer and teaches participants how the design from within nature and create sustainable living systems. Most class meetings will be held at the Randall Museum and there are several field trips to nearby trips. There are also optional workdays and study groups. Course requirements go toward a certificate in Permaculture Design. The course is open to all levels of experience. Cost: $950 and some certificates are available. Randall Museum, 199 Museum Way.

LGBT Center’s “Start Here, Go Anywhere:” Saturday, June 7, 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Pride Kickoff Celebration at the SF LGBT Community Center is a building-wide party of entertainment, food and information about the Center and the city. Comedy Tonight!: Wednesday, Jun. 11, 8 p.m. Join comics Judy Tenuta and Bruce Vilanch, and singers Sharon McNight and Maureen McVerry, among many others as they perform to benefit the Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation. San Francisco Amateur Astronomers’ Lecture Series: Wednesday, Jun. 18, 8 p.m. Join solar physicist Dr. Janet Luhmann from UC Berkeley for a presentation on space weather. The sun is entering a new 11-year solar cycle; learn how this may affect our planet, satellites, and those venturing into space. Open to all ages but geared toward adults. Admission is free. Father’s Day Collage Placemat: Saturday, Jun. 21, 1-4 p.m. Make a large Father’s Day card to laminate, and create a placemat with it that your dad can use over and over. $3 per child and $5 per parent/child combo. Randall Museum 199 Museum Way.

The Return of Charo and Her Las Vegas Show: Sunday, Jun. 29, 8 p.m. Comedienne, stage and screen performer, and musician Charo will be performing at the Herbst Theatre after the Gay Pride Parade, in which she will be a Grand Marshal, accompanied by a pink float full of look-alikes. Tickets range from $40 to $100. Herbst Theatre. 401 Van Ness Ave.

The Randall Museum’s ‘Wild in the City’: On display through Nov. 1. Learn about the various wild animals that live right among us in the heart of the city. The museum invites visitors to explore a miniature San Francisco to see the variety of ecosystems and creatures that exist in our very own backyards and gardens, from the common to the unfamiliar. Learn about this wealth of wildlife through interactive exhibits and even a few live creatures hidden throughout. Admission is free. Randall Museum. 199 Museum Way.
