The Randall Museum’s ‘Amateur Astronomers’ Lecture Series: Wednesday, July 15, 7:30 p.m. Eugene Chang, an Associate Professor of Astronomy and Earth & Planetary Science at the University of California at Berkeley, discusses the “Kuiper Belt” of bodies—more than 1000 icy, rocky objects beyond Neptune— and how these discoveries can help astronomers answer questions about the formation of our own solar system. Birders will visit several habitats, each of which is enjoyed by different bird species. The east canyon, the south cliffs, the north forest, and the hilltop grasslands will all be explored.
