Dec. 30, 12:28 a.m., Robbery with a Gun, Haight Street & Buena Vista East
Police responded to a robbery report to find two women visiting from Denmark who had just been robbed at gunpoint.
They had only been in the city for eight hours and were waiting for a bus, when the suspect approached and demanded their wallets. Although police were unable to find the suspect, they did find another victim robbed by the same person.
Dec. 20, between 10:30 p.m. and 9 a.m., Burglary from Automobile, Upper Terrace & Buena Vista
Several items were stolen from a parked car that was locked and unattended by an unknown number of persons, who broke a window to gain access.
Dec. 23, 12:05 a.m., Death, Buena Vista West Avenue
A 46-year-old man was found deceased in his home. The coroner is investigating the death, and it does not appear to be criminal in nature.
Dec. 26, 9 a.m., Burglary and Unlawful Entry, Henry Street
A bike was taken from the victim’s building storage area. Entry was believed to have been gained through a neighbor’s unfenced backyard.
No one was seen.
Dec. 30, 11:25 a.m., Aggressive Soliciting and Disturbing the Peace, Market & Castro Streets
Officers responded to reports of two juvenile males soliciting funds for a basketball team.
While the fund-raising effort was not an issue, they responded aggressively to those who refused to donate by slapping hands and calling names.
One of the suspects was found and cited.
Jan. 1, 2:30 a.m., Aggravated Assault, 3400 block of 16th Street
The victims in this incident were a group of people waiting to enter an apartment building, when another group, composed of young adults, attempted to force their way in, assaulting the victims.
Three of the suspects were identified and arrested. Another seven were detained at the time of this report.
Jan. 16, 7:30 a.m., Dog Bite Incident, 200 Block of Hartford Street
Officers responded to a call regarding a dog bite incident. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who had self-treated her wound prior to calling.
The victim told the officers that she was bitten by the neighbor’s dog as she was attempting to get into her car. The victim declined further medical treatment.
The incident will be followed up by Animal Care and Control.
